Josh Nordell visited our July 1st meeting. Josh joined the Sisters School District 17 years ago now as a special ed teacher. His role has now expanded to leading the Transitions Program. This is a wide ranging program that gives students that just don't fit in the "standard" high school world a place. This could be because of non-neurotypical situations or others. As usual, Josh gave and interesting and often humorous take on the challenges (and successes) of being a special education teacher. Josh's parting gift was a donation from our club for the program. The Kiwanis Club of Sisters meets the first and second Wednesday each month. We usually have a guest speaker at the first meeting, and they are open to the public. Come and join us, connect with people that are making a difference in our community!
